I’m so excited that you’re interested in joining Alderwood Studio for some production assistant work! Please fill out the form, and feel free to ask any questions.
I am primarily looking for someone in the Portland metro area to help with projects; this could mean creating additional samples, finishing some quilts, and more! If you aren’t local, feel free to still apply. Just be aware that preference will be given to local quilters! The number of hours will vary depending on the projects currently on my plate (very rough estimate of 5-40 hours a month), but in the short term I’m looking for someone who has some availability this fall. This is perfectly compatible with a day job or kids, as most work can be done asynchronously. The ideal candidate will:
Be an experienced quilter who is confident in following patterns and diagrams.
Have good accuracy and precision when sewing, since most of these quilts will be professionally photographed.
Photography skills and a quilting Instagram account are not necessary! But, if you do have an IG account it can help me get a sense of your past work.
Longarm quilting abilities would be a huge asset (though not expected or required).
Be COVID vaccinated or plan to be in the future. While we are currently still social distancing, I’d love to be able to work in the same physical space together at times (or at least hit a local happy hour)!
